Bush, Clinton continue unlikely bromance

Continuing what has blossomed into an unlikely postpresidential bromance, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush exchanged messages Wednesday, with the former presidents chiding each other over their social media platform choices.

Clinton kicked things off via Twitter by thanking the 43rd president for sending him a copy of “41: A Portrait of My Father,” George W. Bush’s book about former President George H. W. Bush.

“Received my copy of #41 by #43, George W. Bush,” Clinton Tweeted. “Touching tribute! #HowAreYouSTILLNotOnTwitter #PresidentialTweeters.”

Bush, who is the only living current or former president not named Jimmy Carter without a Twitter account, responded on Instagram.

“Thanks, 42! Hope you like the book about your pal, #41,” he Wrote, adding: “#HowAreYouSTILLNotOnInstagram #PresidentialGrammers #BrotherFromAnotherMother.”

This isn’t the first time the brothers-from-other-mothers have flirted in public.

In September, the political opposites announced their new Presidential Scholars Program at A Lighthearted Launch event in Washington, where Bush offered Clinton advice on becoming a grandparent.

“Get ready … to be like the lowest person in the pecking order in your family,” Bush quipped.
